Sales Manager

📍 Remote💼 Full-time

Sales Manager (Remote) - HR Tech

Our client builds hiring and people management software for small businesses. They're hiring a Sales Manager to own the full sales motion - from pipeline to close - with genuine understanding of the customers you're selling to.

This is a hands-on role at a company that ships fast and expects the same pace from everyone around it.

What you'll do

You'll own the end-to-end sales pipeline: prospecting, demos, negotiation, and close. Sales cycles here are measured in weeks, not quarters. You'll drive new business acquisition among small and growing businesses with a clear personal quota and full accountability for hitting it.

You'll build and iterate on outbound and inbound sales plays. You'll spend time in calls with prospects, learning what works and what doesn't, then quickly shift strategy based on what you learn. You'll also contribute to hiring and onboarding the sales team as the function scales.

This isn't a manager role where you delegate everything. You'll be closing deals yourself while building a team that can do the same.

Who you are

You've sold to or worked inside small businesses. You understand their budget constraints, their hiring cycles, and why bloated enterprise software doesn't fit them. You've felt that pain yourself, ideally.

You've shipped quota in a fast-moving environment. You're comfortable with short feedback loops, ambiguity, and changing tactics mid-month based on what the market tells you. You don't need a 90-day onboarding plan to start contributing.

You genuinely care about the customer. Not as an abstract market segment, but as a real person running a real business who deserves better software than what they've had to cobble together until now.

You're energized by velocity, not unsettled by it. You move at the pace of the business and expect your tools and process to keep up, not slow you down.

The role

Remote. Reporting to the Head of Growth. Salary AUD 70,000 to AUD 95,000 depending on experience.

You'll work with a lean GTM team that values output over process. There's no bloat here. If you're used to enterprise sales (long cycles, dedicated support, rigid playbooks), this probably isn't the fit.

If you've built pipeline fast in a small team and you understand why small business owners get frustrated with software built for enterprises, this role is worth a conversation.
