Sales Manager
Sales Manager
The Role
Our client builds software for the full employee lifecycle - hiring, management, offboarding, referrals - and it's built specifically for small businesses. The product is ready. The market is real. What's missing is a focused seller who knows how to earn trust with small business owners and close deals.
This is a hands-on sales role, not a management position. You'll own the full cycle from prospecting through signed contract. You find the prospects, you run the conversations, you close the deals. No handoffs to a closing team. No sitting in a pipeline review meeting while someone else does the work. If you're the type of seller who'd rather be in the deal than managing people, this is the role.
You'll build and maintain a healthy pipeline of SMB prospects, develop relationships with decision makers, and turn conversations into customers. Remote-first, fully flexible - you structure your own day and own your own results.
About You
You genuinely understand small business. You've either worked inside one, grown up around one, or spent time selling to them. You know that a $50k software decision matters differently when you're a 15-person team than when you're a 500-person company. Small business owners are direct, practical, and they buy from people they trust. You know how to earn that trust.
You have a track record of owning sales cycles end-to-end. You've prospected, qualified, run discovery calls, handled objections, and closed deals yourself - not delegated pieces of a process. You're comfortable with ambiguity in the approach but rigorous about the fundamentals: pipeline discipline, call quality, deal hygiene.
You communicate clearly, especially in writing. In a remote-first team, how you show up in email and Slack matters as much as how you perform on calls. You're proactive, not reactive. You don't need constant process or hand-holding to know what to do next.
You care about the mission. Giving small businesses access to software they couldn't previously afford isn't just a pitch to you - it's why you're interested in this role.
The Details
Fully remote. USD 60,000 to 90,000 depending on experience. You'll report directly to leadership and work closely with the product and customer success teams.
If this sounds like the kind of selling you want to do, send a short note explaining why SMB software specifically and one example of a deal you personally closed. We'll take it from there.
