Segment Marketing Manager - Australia

Our client is a cloud accounting software company with millions of small business customers across Australia and beyond. We're looking for a Segment Marketing Manager to own the marketing strategy for Australian accountants, bookkeepers, and small business owners - the people who keep the numbers straight for Australia's backbone of tradies, cafes, hairdressers, and service businesses.

This role is not about running generic campaigns. It's about understanding how accountants actually bill their time, how bookkeepers spend their day, what keeps them up at night about compliance and cash flow. You'll shape the marketing strategy for a defined, commercially critical audience - and you'll own it end-to-end, from strategy through execution.

What you'll do

Own the full marketing plan for the Australian segment. That means setting the strategy, building the campaigns, measuring what lands, and iterating based on what practitioners actually respond to. You'll sit close to the product team and close to the customer. You'll know which features matter to an accountant managing 200 clients, and which ones feel like noise.

Speak directly to practitioners and their clients. Whether it's accountants deciding which tools to recommend to their clients, or small business owners learning to reconcile their own books, your work will reach people who don't have time for jargon. You'll translate product capability into the practical workflow problems these people solve every day.

Build campaigns that drive adoption and retention. From awareness through to helping practitioners get real value from the platform. You'll work with partners, communities, and channels that accountants and bookkeepers actually use.

Measure what matters. You'll set up the metrics that tell you whether your strategy is working, and adjust when it's not.

Who you are

You've worked inside the accounting software, bookkeeping, or SMB software world - ideally in a role that gave you real proximity to how accountants or bookkeepers work. Marketing, partnerships, sales, product - the exact function matters less than the context.

You write and think in plain language. You can explain why bank reconciliation matters to a small business owner, without ever sounding patronizing. Jargon-free is your default.

You're outcome-focused, not campaign-focused. You care that something actually helps an accountant work faster or a plumber feel on top of their finances - not just that the campaign hit its click targets.

You're comfortable with complexity. Multi-geography. Multi-product ecosystem. Enough moving parts that you need to stay clear about what actually matters to the customer.
