Senior Account Executive - Enterprise Embedded Finance

Our client builds the financial infrastructure that powers platforms and marketplaces globally. They're not a payment gateway. They're the regulated rails that let platforms hold multi-currency wallets, receive inbound payments via local accounts, convert currencies, and move money to sellers across borders. Think of them as the backbone that neobanks, B2B marketplaces, and payroll platforms are built on top of.
We're hiring a Senior Account Executive to own enterprise sales into platforms and marketplaces across New Zealand and assigned markets. This is consultative, complex, and genuinely high-touch.
What the role actually involves
You'll run the full sales cycle from first discovery through contract signature with CFOs and Heads of Product at companies that are evaluating embedded finance infrastructure. These aren't quick deals and they aren't won with a product demo. They're won by understanding how money flows through the prospect's business today, where it gets stuck, and why switching to a different financial infrastructure actually changes their P&L or their go-to-market speed.
You'll need to ask the questions that expose real problems: How do you handle FX settlement across five markets? What happens when a seller in the Philippines gets paid but your ledger is in USD? Who owns the funds legally while they're sitting in a connected account?
Most importantly, you'll translate genuinely complex financial infrastructure into language that matters to a CFO. Connected accounts aren't an API feature - they're the difference between being Merchant of Record and letting your sellers be. Fund segregation isn't compliance theatre - it's why a marketplace can expand to a new jurisdiction without blowing up their banking relationships.
What we're looking for
You have prior experience inside payments infrastructure. Not adjacent to it - inside it. You've sold or built at a company like Stripe, Adyen, Rapyd, Checkout.com, or similar. You understand the difference between a payment gateway and an embedded finance platform without needing it explained.
You've sold in multiple regulated markets. You know what "EEA passporting" means or you can reason about why a product feature works differently in Singapore than it does in Germany.
You're comfortable with ambiguity in deal-specific approval processes. You don't need everything to be self-serve or formulaic.
You can speak confidently to technical buyers without a technical background, and to financial buyers without a finance background.
Practicalities
Competitive base salary + uncapped commission structure. Health insurance, kiwisaver, professional development budget. Work from Auckland or flexible arrangement depending on the role and your setup.
