Notes: @mention a teammate
Signed in? Ask Lovelio this question inside the app - it answers from this same page.
Type @ in any note box and Lovelio lists your teammates straight away. That is every place a note is typed: a candidate, application, job, client, contact, interview, placement or talent pool timeline, the deal file, a note on a highlighted CV line, the phone screen quick note, Add note from the menu or Cmd+K, and a note added to several candidates at once. Keep typing to narrow the list, then pick a name with the arrow keys and Enter (or click it). The note reads "@Sam Lee please start the compliance checks".
Who can be tagged
Only teammates who can see the record. In team or desk mode, someone on another desk is not offered for a candidate they cannot open, and typing their name by hand does nothing: the name stays as plain text and nobody is told. You are never offered yourself. If nobody matches what you typed, the list says so.
What the tagged person gets
- A notification in their bell, which opens the record.
- A row in For you on their home page, alongside records teammates have shared with them, that stays until they open it.
- One email with the note and a link straight to the record. The agency can switch these emails off under Settings, Emails, "Note mentions (to your team)"; the bell and home line stay.
There is no task or due date. The note is the message. To hand a whole record to someone with an answer you can see, use Share instead (see "Share a record with a teammate").
Other ways to tag
Writing "@Full Name" in a note works from every door that adds a note: the record's note box, Slack, WhatsApp, Ask Lovelio, the V1 API (POST /api/v1/activities, which also takes a mentions list of user ids or names) and the MCP add_note tool. The same rule applies everywhere: only people who can see the record are told.
Common questions
- I typed a name and nobody was told. Either they cannot see that record under your agency's visibility setting, or the name did not match their full name in Lovelio. Use the @ list to be sure.
- Can I tag several people? Yes, as many as you like in one note. Each gets one notification and one email.
- Can I tag someone on a note I add to many candidates at once? Yes. They get one notification and one email per candidate, each opening that candidate.
