Your Patch: telling Lovelio what your agency recruits

Signed in? Ask Lovelio this question inside the app - it answers from this same page.

Your patch is your agency's own description of what it recruits: roles, sectors, seniority, where, and anything you never touch. It is set once and edited rarely, so it lives in Settings. It shapes the business development map and which new jobs at your watched companies count as new.

How do I set my patch?

  1. Go to Settings > Hiring > Your Patch. You need team-settings access (admin only by default).
  2. Wait a moment. If you have never set a patch, Lovelio reads what it already knows about you and drafts one. The text says it is "Reading what Lovelio already knows about you and drafting your patch...".
  3. The draft shows as chips for roles and sectors, plus three places to choose from: a city, a region and a country.
  4. Tap a chip to take it off. Use the Add pill on a row to add a role, sector or place of your own. More than one place can stand at once.
  5. Click "Looks right - build my map".

If there is nothing to draft from, you get a text box instead. Click "Write it myself" at any time to use it.

How do I write it myself?

  1. In the text box, say it the way you would tell someone who asked what your agency does. For example: "We recruit commercial property professionals, mostly mid-level to senior, in and around Canberra. No government, no temp."
  2. Click the microphone to speak it instead, if your browser supports it.
  3. Click "Build my map" the first time, or "Save changes" later.
  4. Lovelio plays back what it understood, as Roles, Sectors, Where, Seniority and Never. Check it.
  5. Click "Looks right - save", or "Keep editing" to change the words.

Nothing is saved until you confirm the reading. The AI never shapes the map on a reading you have not approved.

How do I change my patch later?

  1. Go to Settings > Hiring > Your Patch.
  2. Click Edit beside your patch.
  3. Change the words and click "Save changes". Confirm the reading.
  4. Click Cancel to leave it as it was.

Edit any time: too many leads, too few, or the wrong kind. The map re-scores against the new patch.

How do I say what I never do?

  • In the text box, say it: "no temp", "no government".
  • In the drafted chips, take off a sector chip. Removing a sector states an exclusion, and it removes those employers from the map. No agency publishes what it will not do, so this is how exclusions get stated.
  • Removing a role chip only leaves that role undeclared. Lovelio stops looking for it, but it does not block any employer.

The saved patch shows what you excluded in its Never row.

What does my patch change?

  • Business development: declared roles count as a fit for a target company, and exclusions remove targets.
  • New jobs at watched companies: a job only counts as new when it matches your roles and places, or is very close, and does not match something you never do. A job Lovelio cannot read still shows. See the Business development card.
  • Nothing is hidden for good. Open a company and its Still open tab lists the jobs outside your patch.

Who can change it?

The Your Patch page needs team-settings access, which is admin only by default. Admins, team leaders and recruiters can also set it by asking Lovelio in chat, through the same two steps: a reading first, then a save once you confirm. Resourcers cannot.

Troubleshooting

  • I do not see Your Patch in Settings. You need team-settings access. Ask an admin.
  • The draft was empty or wrong. Click "Write it myself" and say it in your own words.
  • I removed a chip and the employers disappeared. Removing a sector chip excludes those employers. Put it back, or add the sector again.
  • New jobs I can see on a careers page are missing. They are outside your patch. Open the company and use its Still open tab.
